About On My Feet
On My Feet is a distinctly Australian organisation which uses education and exercise to walk homeless people away from the rough streets.
To achieve this, On My Feet offers three core programs throughout Australia:
• Walking Groups; which feed in to
• Exercise Groups; which feed in to
• Our flagship 6 Month “Shelter to Self Sufficiency” Footsteps Program.
We aren’t creating champion athletes; we provide the support for homeless people to discover their inner champion by building self-respect, a sense of purpose and ultimately self-sufficiency through walking, running, education and employment.
About the Footsteps Program
After a successful pilot in 2019 in Perth, the Footsteps Program is set to continue to create self-sufficiency for vulnerable Australian’s in 2020 by launching in Melbourne CBD in June/July 2020.
Our 2020 Melbourne Footsteps Program will be focused on youth (aged 18-25) experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
Our key outcomes focusses for this year are for each participant to be:
1. Employed and Job Ready
Providing each participant with the skills, training and work placements to re-enter the workforce effectively and maintain employment long term.
2. Independent Living ReadyProviding each participant with the skills, training and opportunities to manage living independently and working full or part time.
3. Physically & Mentally Healthier
Providing each participant with the skills, training and opportunities to become physically and mentally healthier and active.
About the role
We are looking for assistance in building an outcome measurement tool to record the emotional and mental state of participants each week before and after their workshop sessions, whilst also doubling as an attendance check-in register. We are looking for the tool to have the following basic functionality:
This wouldn't be the sole mental health measurement, and other mental health surveys and outcomes measures should look to support this.
We are hoping to have the tool ready for implementation by June 2020.
Please reach out directly to the organisation contact listed to discuss a potential placement in an upcoming workshop.
Health and wellbeing, Mental health, Homelessness
On My Feet is a not-for-profit organisation that assists those dealing with, or at risk of homelessness through exercise and personal development opportunities. We aren’t looking to create champion athletes. We are looking to create champion people who are empowered to become self-sufficient and understand the importance of physical health to their overall well-being.
