Teach For Australia needs skilled volunteers to play the part of job interviewers in mock interviews. Use your skills and experience to help kids transition into the workplace, and see the effects of your coaching in real-time.
Hoppers Crossing Secondary College serves a culturally and socio-economically diverse group of students north-west of Melbourne.
By roleplaying job interviews with the year ten students, you can help prepare them for their transition into the workplace. The day entails three 80 minute sessions. Volunteers are asked to arrive by 10.30am, with the first session commencing at 10.55am. Lunch will be provided. The final session will conclude by 3.10pm.
It's a great opportunity to see the learning feedback loop in action. Previous participants have been extremely positive about the obvious progress they were able to observe in even a short visit. You will be able to see the effect you are having immediately.
All interviewers will need to have a valid Working With Children Check, but Teach For Australia can provide guidance and assistance in obtaining these.
