Footscray City College is a Year 7-12 co-educational college located in Melbourne’s inner west, adjacent to Victoria University. With 1000 students enrolled at the school, there is a rich diversity with almost half the student population having a language background other than English.
Volunteers will provide essential adult role modelling and guidance by assisting Year 9 and 10 students to prepare for their future in the workforce. Volunteers will play the part of potential ‘employers’ in a mock interview situation, and will be given suggested interview questions for guidance. It is a great way for both volunteers and students to gain valuable experience of being in an interview situation, together building self-confidence and developing social skills which are so vital for today’s workforce.
Ardoch is a children’s education charity focused on improving educational outcomes for children and young people in disadvantaged communities.
